Are You Prepared for Battle?
The enemy is always looking for opportunities to destroy you, he wants to bind you in his chains, and drag you down to hell with him. He will do anything it takes to blind your eyes, harden your heart, darken your mind, and corrupt your soul!
You must prepare yourself for battle, and remain prepared at all times because you are being attacked!
2 Nephi 28:20-22
For behold, at that day shall he rage in the hearts of the children of men, and stir them up to anger against that which is good. And others will he pacify, and lull them away into carnal security, that they will say: All is well in Zion; yea, Zion prospereth, all is well—and thus the devil cheateth their souls, and leadeth them away carefully down to hell. And behold, others he flattereth away, and telleth them there is no hell; and he saith unto them: I am no devil, for there is none—and thus he whispereth in their ears, until he grasps them with his awful chains, from whence there is no deliverance.
Are You Strong Enough?
Maybe you feel confident that you can fight whatever battle comes your way. Consider who and what you put your trust in. Do you trust in your own strength and ability? Your possessions? Someone else’s knowledge or power? A group or an organization? None of these things will be enough, and trusting in the wrong things will weaken you.
2 Nephi 4:34
O Lord, I have trusted in thee, and I will trust in thee forever. I will not put my trust in the arm of flesh; for I know that cursed is he that putteth his trust in the arm of flesh. Yea, cursed is he that putteth his trust in man or maketh flesh his arm.
On your own you are not strong enough, but Jesus will make you stronger.
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
What Can Protect You?
Some people go into battle completely unprepared, like the Lamanites with only a loincloth. Can you imagine how vulnerable you would be without armor to protect you?
You need armor. It is not man-made armor that you need though. Only the armor of God will give you the strength and protection you need. This armor is made by God Himself, and He offers it to you freely.
D&C 27:15
Wherefore, lift up your hearts and rejoice, and gird up your loins, and take upon you my whole armor, that ye may be able to withstand the evil day, having done all, that ye may be able to stand against the devil.
Put On the Whole Armor of God
This is the only way that you will be able to stand against the devil. If you will put on the whole armor of God, you will have done all that you need to be able to withstand any attack. Study what each piece of armor is and actively work to put it on and keep it on.
Seek for truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Spirit. These are the things that you will need to have at all times.
Ephesians 6:14-17
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Evaluate yourself every day to make sure that you still have on God’s armor and are prepared for battle. This is what it takes to be an Everyday Warrior. It does require work on your part, just like anything else that a warrior would do to build strength and keep fit. But if you do, you will become strong in The Lord, and able to withstand the enemy’s evil attacks.
Ephesians 6:10-13
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
The Best Armor Possible
This armor of God is also called armor of righteousness or armor of light, and we are even told to put on the Lord Jesus Christ!
2 Nephi 1:23
Awake, my sons; put on the armor of righteousness. Shake off the chains with which ye are bound, and come forth out of obscurity, and arise from the dust.
Romans 13:12
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
Yes! It is your High Commander, Jesus Christ who will be your protection. Put on His armor and you will be invincible!
D&C 35:14
And their arm shall be my arm, and I will be their shield and their buckler; and I will gird up their loins, and they shall fight manfully for me; and their enemies shall be under their feet; and I will let fall the sword in their behalf, and by the fire of mine indignation will I preserve them.
