Fight the Battle
As a warrior for Christ, you cannot sit idly by. Every day the battle rages on, so more than just avoiding attacks you must actively fight!
1 Timothy 6:12
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
Be Heroic
A Hero is distinguished for valor, they are brave, and active even in the face of danger.
1 Chronicles 19:13
Be of good courage, and let us behave ourselves valiantly for our people, and for the cities of our God: and let the Lord do that which is good in his sight.
Our High Commander needs warriors who are are willing to go about doing good, people who are true at all times. Like real-life heroic individuals who inspire others, you can rise up and be a hero to those around you.
Notice how these heroes from the past are described:
Moroni
Alma 48:11-13
And Moroni was a strong and a mighty man; he was a man of a perfect understanding; yea, a man that did not delight in bloodshed; a man whose soul did joy in the liberty and the freedom of his country, and his brethren from bondage and slavery; Yea, a man whose heart did swell with thanksgiving to his God, for the many privileges and blessings which he bestowed upon his people; a man who did labor exceedingly for the welfare and safety of his people. Yea, and he was a man who was firm in the faith of Christ, and he had sworn with an oath to defend his people, his rights, and his country, and his religion, even to the loss of his blood.
If everyone would be like this, the powers of hell would be shaken forever and the devil would have no power over anyone’s hearts!
Stripling Warriors
Alma 53:20-21
And they were all young men, and they were exceedingly valiant for courage, and also for strength and activity; but behold, this was not all—they were men who were true at all times in whatsoever thing they were af2121 entrusted. Yea, they were men of truth and soberness, for they had been taught to keep the commandments of God and to walk uprightly before him.
Even young people have this power through valiant, virtuous living!
The Sons of Mosiah and Alma and His Sons
Alma 48:17-19
Yea, verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men. Behold, he was a man like unto Ammon, the son of Mosiah, yea, and even the other sons of Mosiah, yea, and also Alma and his sons, for they were all men of God. Now behold, Helaman and his brethren were no less serviceable unto the people than was Moroni; for they did preach the word of God, and they did baptize unto repentance all men whosoever would hearken unto their words.
This not only describes Moroni, but also the sons of Mosiah, and Alma and his sons. You too can be like this! You are an everyday warrior and you can become heroic!

As you are seeking for opportunities to be heroic, the Hero’s Creed gives guiding principles. This is your mission, to actively fight for goodness sake, shining a light in the darkness.

Post the Hero’s Creed in your home. Memorizing it will remind you of your mission and keep you focused on the goal of being heroic.
Live the Hero's Creed
As you valiantly strive to live the Hero’s Creed every day, you will see incredible power driving the enemy away and inviting the Spirit of God to be with you. It has the power to transform attitudes, relationships, and environments!
D&C 35:24
Keep all the commandments and covenants by which ye are bound; and I will cause the heavens to shake for your good, and Satan shall tremble and Zion shall rejoice upon the hills and flourish;
When you live the Hero’s Creed it will become a part of who you are, you will become trustworthy, kind, vigilant, and gracious. You will become heroic!
2 Timothy 4:7-8
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
