Hero Quest 2018 Event Details
Hero Quest is a one-day simulation designed to help our youth grow, have fun, develop strong friendships with other quality youth, and be even more prepared to lead and guide our young knights and handmaidens. Below are the details for registered participants of Hero Quest for this year.
Time and Location
Hero Quest will be held Thursday August 30th, at the American Fork Amphitheater at 850 E 700 N, American Fork, Utah. This is a one-day event.
For ALL youth leaders, check-in time is 8:30 am. Please be on time and ready to participate fully.
For Hero Quest Staff, check-in time is 7:30 am.
End time is 8:30 pm. Please note that the debrief for Master Knights and Princesses may go a little later. Remember the order of departure and follow it carefully.
There will be a feast provided for all youth leaders on Thursday evening as part of the event. Staff members can purchase a ticket for the feast for $6.50 (GF meals available for +$2). Details have been emailed out. There is no meal provided on Friday or Saturday, so plan your snacks accordingly.
Villains
We are still in need of villains for Thursday (as well as Saturday). All villains must be checked in no later than 2:00 pm on Thursday. You must be registered to participate as a villain this year. We are looking for men and women, ages 16 to adult. You can find all details and register by clicking here.
Packing List and Dress Code
Every youth leader needs to be prepared in order to have the best experience possible. We frequently experience all four seasons in one day at this time of year and it is crucial that you are prepared for heat and for cold. Summit goes on, rain or shine. Please bring the following, in a backpack or bag, all items clearly marked with your name (for Queen Emily's sanity):
- Water bottle
- Sack lunch. Be generous. You will be very hungry.
- Warm jacket.
- Rain poncho
- Good shoes. Even though the girls will be wearing dresses, you need to have supportive shoes that cover your toe. Shoes are required to be worn at all times while on the premises.
Dress Code - girls should wear modest dresses or skirt and blouses. There shouldn't be any long trains, huge, trailing sleeves, or hoops in the skirt. Layers should be worn underneath the dresses and can be removed if the day is too warm. Keep in mind the rule about shoes. For boys, they can simply wear a t-shirt or long-sleeved shirt (remember the layers instructions) and pants. Athletic pants or cotton slacks are better than jeans. No shorts and no inappropriate slogans on shirts. Medieval style shirts are always welcome. See the costume list in your trianing packet for further details.
Parking
There are two available parking lots at the Amphitheater. The lower parking lot is available for drop off/pick up only. For all parking longer than 20 minutes, please park in the upper parking lot or on the street to the east of the park (across the street from the temple). Please carpool wherever possible to help us keep parking under control.
